Abstract:Through the analysis of oil seal abrasion,it is found that the severest abrasion occurs at the lip of oil seal,and the wear degree of the oil seal can be evaluated by the contact width of the lip.Finite element method was applied to analyze the deformation of oil seal,and the contact stress distribution and contact width of oil seal were obtained.The finite element analysis results of the wear of the oil seal accord with the actual abrasion situation,it was proved that finite element method can be used to evaluate the wear degree of the oil seal.The deformation of oil seals with different lip structure was investigated by finite element simulation.The analysis results show the maximal contact stress of oil seal can be decreased by adopting the lip with filleted corner structure,and the maximal contact stress is decreased with the fillet radius increasing.
