Abstract:In order to investigate the effects of load on the wear mechanism of the new waterlubricated polymer bearing material, under nonlubrication and waterlubrication conditions, the friction and wear test of the friction pairs under different loads was conducted on CFT-1 friction and wear tester. The wear mechanism of the material were analyzed by the measured friction coefficient, wear scar, and wear surface morphology. The results show that under nonlubrication condition, the friction coefficient of the material is first decreased gradually and then increased, the plastic deformation and tearing off phenomenon appear on the worn surface, and the wear mechanism is mainly adhesive wear. With the increase of load, the plastic deformation of the surface tends to be serious, but the surface tearing off is relatively slight under moderate load and severe under low load and high load.Under the condition of water lubrication, the friction coefficient of the material is first decreased gradually and then increased sharply, there is no plastic deformation and tearing off on the worn surface, but the abrasive particles falls off and the furrow become visible, and the wear mechanism is mainly abrasive wear.Under moderate load, the surface has less abrasive particles and the furrow is small and shallow.Under low load and high load, the surface has more abrasive particles and the furrow is deep.
