Abstract:In order to determine the impact of operating conditions on the oil film characteristics of turbine tilting pad bearing when steam turbine is running,with four watts tilting pad bearings as an example,the model was set up using Pro/E.Based on three dimensional SST turbulence model,considering the effect of tile gap and the mutual effect between tiles,the influence of oil inlet pressure,oil inlet temperature,eccentricity and shaft rotation speed on the oil film characteristics of four watts tilting pad bearings was simulated using ANSYS.The results show that the oil inlet pressure has less effect on the oil film properties,while the oil inlet temperature,eccentricity and shaft rotation speed have great influence the oil film characteristics.These three parameters should be strictly monitored during the running of steam turbine.
