Abstract:The performance of the conical blade pumping ring of a mechanical seal was analyzed based on the theory of centrifugal pumps and simulated by using CFD software.The pressure distribution of neighborhood flow field was obtained to determine the pumping capability of the pumping ring.The theoretical analysis expression of pumping capability was given,and the effects of the speed and the number of blades of pumping ring on the pumping capability were analyzed.The result of theoretical analysis was compared with that of numerical simulation,which validated the correctness of this model built.The pumping capability of the pumping ring is appropriately increased with the increase of the speed and the number of blades of pumping ring.But with the increase of the number of blades,the pumping ring is more prone to cavitation.
