The texture characteristics of the point grinding are different from that of the general cylindrical grinding for the reason that there is a variable of the point grinding angle. The surface texture of the point grinding was characterized and analyzed using the simplification method, and the influence of the surface texture direction on the hydrodynamic lubrication was analyzed. The influence of the different point grinding surface texture direction on the tribological property of the parts was studied through friction and wear experiments under the condition of fluid lubrication.The results indicate that the change in point grinding surface texture direction influences the formation of the hydrodynamic oil film and the formed film thickness, as well as the friction coefficient of parts with different texture direction under different load. The formation of hydrodynamic oil film needs appropriate load.Under certain working condition, there is the texture direction to make the parts have the best tribological property, so the tribology property of the parts can be optimized by controlling the point grinding surface texture direction in production.
