Cryogenic MQL is a kind of green cutting technology that combines the cryogenic pressed air and minimal quantity lubrication(MQL).The cutting experiments of 304 stainless steel by cryogenic MQL were completed by transformed cutting tool YT15.The effects on surface roughness and chip morphology by the cutting modes of dry cutting,wet cutting and MQL cutting were analyzed.The results show that Cryogenic MQL plays a better role of lubrication,and effectively reduces the cutting zone temperature as it can directly send the lubricating oil into the contact area of tool-chip and tool-workpiece by high pressure air.Compared to dry cutting and wet cutting,cryogenic MQL cutting has some advantages in terms of surface roughness and chip breaking and chip morphology.
