A numerical model was developed for hydrostatic guideway lubrication for constant flow under heavy load and skew with considering elastic deformation,fluid viscosity and compressibility to investigate effects of load and deflection under different velocity.The multigrid method was used to compute the performance characteristics.Results show that the difference of film thickness and flow for elastic and rigid model is enhanced as the load increases.The deflection has influence on film thickness and flow for sealing side,and the influence for two directions of deflection is similar.Generally,in heavy load,the elastic deformation and deflection should be considered for calculation of film thickness and flow.
