Abstract:Conventional metal pipe joint with sphereconical sealing surface,which is used in spacecraft propulsion liquid filling onorbit,wears seriously and is easily prone to cold welding under the condition of space environment and large contact stress,resulting in seal failure.The spacecraft filler pipe joint surface was improved by using ceramic coating and ceramic insert.The antiwear and seal performance of ceramic composite filler pipe joint was studied by experiments,and compared with that of metal material pipe joint.The results show that ceramic materials promote the antiwear and seal performance of the reusable filler pipe joint,and increase the usage count of filler pipe joint.The improvement scheme of ceramic insert takes full advantage of the hardness and antiwear of the ceramics,which also can avoid the adhesive wear due to the use of different material in the contact interfaces,thus the sealing effect of improvement scheme of ceramic insert is best.
