Abstract:Based on the viewpoint of frictioninduced selfexcited vibration of a wheelsettrack system causing rail corrugation,and assumed the creep forces between the wheels and rails are saturated and equal to the normal contact forces multiplied by the friction coefficient,an elastic vibration model of a wheelsettrack system when a vehicle negotiates a straight track at a steady state was established.The motion stability of the model was analyzed and the possible frequency of the rail corrugation was predicted using ABAQUS package.Results show that the possible frequency of the rail corrugation is 241.56,252.65,253.14 Hz.The compassion between numerical and experimental results proves the reliability of the proposed method.
