Aimed at the existing problems of conventional packer that the contact pressure distribution is uneven and the sealing of rubber is not tight,a new kind of packer was developed,which uses a assorted structure rubber and uses a new loading way,the way of uniform compression on both sides of rubber at the same time.The finite element model of the rubber of twoway compressed packer was established by nonlinear finite element method.The sealing performance of the new type packer was analyzed by using ANSYS software and was compared with conventional packer.The results show that the average contact pressure of the twoway compressed packer rubber is approximately 20% higher than that of conventional packer rubber.Compared with conventional packer rubber,this new type of packer rubber has larger contact region,more even contact pressure distribution,more stable deformation and much better sealing performance.
