Abstract:Based on HSR2M highspeed reciprocating friction and wear tester, the effect of normal force, reciprocating velocity and other parameter on friction and wear properties of steel rail materials were studied.By analyzing wear scar morphology, the wear mechanism was studied and the results with and without magnetic field were compared. The results show that the magnetic field can reduce the friction coefficient and wear rate of steel rail materials. With the increasing of sliding velocity, the friction coefficient and wear rate of steel rail materials are reduced. With the increasing of normal force, the friction coefficient of steel rail materials is reduced, but the wear rate is increased.Magnetic field can improve the friction and wear properties of steel rail materials.Without magnetic field, the wear of steel rail materials is typical abrasive wear, the worn surface has obvious furrows, and the wear tests have larger wear rate and friction coefficient. When a magnetic field is applied, the wear mechanism is mainly adhesive wear, and the friction coefficient and the wear rate are small.
