Abstract:Benzonic acid & sebacic acid titanium complex grease were prepared with experimental kettle,and its friction and wear performance,loadcarrying capacity were studied.Relation between soap molecular structure and tribological properties of titanium complex grease were analyzed.Morphology of wear scar of steel balls were observed using SEM.Chemical states of typical elements on the wear scar of steel ball were analyzed by means of the XPS.Soap molecular structures of titanium complex grease were characterized using infrared spectrum.The results show that tribological performance of titanium complex grease mainly depends on the molecular structure of titanium complex soap.Antiwear properties of benzonic acid titanium complex grease containing benzene ring are better than that of sebacic acid titanium complex grease,but their antifriction and loadcarrying capacity are the same.The main wear mechanism of steel ball under lubrication of titanium complex greases is adhesive wear.The reason that benzonic acid titanium complex grease containing benzene ring has good antiwear properties is that the thicker chemical sediment containing titanium is formed on the tribological surface.
