Abstract:With basalt the fibers modified by polyvinyl acetate,epoxy latex and silane coupling agent(KH550),and the mineral basalt fiber as reinforced fibers,the resinbased composites reinforced by modified basalt fibers were produced via hotpress.The influences of different modified basalt fibers on the hardness,impact strength,firction and wear properties of the composites were researched.The friction surface and debris were analyzed by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy(EDS).The results show the resinbased friction materials reinforced by four kinds of modified basalt fiber have the similar mechanical properties.The resinbased friction materials reinforced by poly vinyl acetate shows better resisting thermal decay property and tribological property,which is more beneficial to forms the full and stalbe friction film during the braking process.
