Abstract:The tribological properties of C/SiC composites with different fiber directions was tested respectively with Al2O3-ZrO2 and 45 steel by using pin on disc test, the influence of the materials of friction pairs and the fiber direction on the antiwear and friction reducting properties of C/SiC composites was investigated. It is found from the results that C/SiC composites with vertical fiber direction show better tribological performance than that with parallel fiber direction after test with Al2O3-ZrO2 and 45 steel. The friction pair of C/SiC composites with vertical fiber direction and Al2O3-ZrO2 shows the lowest friction coefficient and wear rate, and the friction test process is more stable. The wear form of C/SiC composite with Al2O3-ZrO2 is mainly abrasive wear and for 45 steel, the wear form is abrasive wear accompanied by chemical wear.
