Abstract:Using the ring block wear tester and the surface topography instrument,by choosing different friction materials and controlling wear distance,load and speed,the changes of wear rate were studied to verify a numerical calculation method based on Archard’s wear calculation model.It is found that the change of wear depth with wear distance gradually slows down from the rapid increase at the beginning,and tends to increase steadily at the end.The change of the friction pair material has a great influence on the wear rate.The wear rate is increased with the increasing of load,but the relationship between the two is not the linear relationship.When the effect of temperature change is neglected,the wear rate has nothing to do with the wear speed.The experiment shows that the results of wear amount of this calculation model for different materials and loads are in good agreement with the actual wear amount by experiment,but the relative error is larger when the wear trace depth is shallow.
