Abstract:In order to study the influence of high temperature and abrasive environment on the sealing performance of fluorine rubber, the fluorine rubber ring was treated at high temperature from 100 ℃ to 200 ℃,and using 304 stainless steel and fluoroelastomer as friction pairs, the friction characteristics of the fluorine rubber ring were studied at high temperature, without abrasive particles and with abrasive particles. The wear scar on the rubber surface was observed by using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM),and the frictional appearance of the metal surface was observed by a light microscope.it is found that the range of friction coefficient of fluorine rubber specimens is decreased with the increase of the treatment temperature of the fluorine rubber.Under the condition of friction test with abrasive particles, with the increase in treatment temperature of fluorine rubber specimens, the main wear scar on the rubber surface changes from scratches to dents, however, the wear mark on 304 stainless steel surface changes from furrows to dents. This is because, with the increase of the treatment temperature of fluorine rubber, the surface hardness and other properties of fluorine rubber are changed differently, which results in the abrasive particles to break up in different degrees and the main movement form of the abrasive particles to change from sliding to rolling during the process of friction. Therefore, different wear marks are produced on the surface of fluorine rubber and 304 stainless steel.
