Abstract:In order to study the effects of surface texture on the lubrication performance of offset bearing,the sine,rectangular and triangle surface textures were prepared on the surface of offset bearing.A hydrodynamic lubrication model of offset bearing with surface texture was established,and a multiscale method,finite cell method,was employed to solve the Reynolds equation and energy equation.The key lubrication characteristics of the offset bearing with surface texture were studied,and the main parameters of the offset bearing with surface texture,including the minimum oil film thickness,the maximum oil film pressure,the temperature rise,power consumption and flow,stiffness and damping,were compared with the offset bearing with the smooth surface.The results show that compared with the smooth surface,the texture increases the flow and the maximum oil film pressure,reduces the temperature rise,decreases the minimum oil film thickness,and reduces the critical mass.Under the condition of constant load and different rotational speed,the rectangular texture has the best performance,whose minimum oil film thickness is the smallest,maximum oil film pressure is the largest,and critical mass is the largest,and the sine texture is the second,while the performance of the triangle texture is the worst.Under the condition of constant speed and different load,the rectangular textured bearings have the largest load carrying capacity,followed by the sine texture and the triangle texture,while the triangle textured bearings has the largest critical mass which has the best stability
