In order to study the influence of web holes on rail corrugation on sharp curved tracks,a finite element model was established from the viewpoint of frictioninduced vibration causing rail corrugation,which consists of wheels with web holes or not,rails and a serial of sleepers.The model was analyzed by using the complex eigenvalue method,and the influences of the distance of holes,the number of holes and the size of holes on rail corrugation were studied.The simulation results show that the saturated creep force may lead to rail corrugation on a sharp curved track.The distance of web hole has some influence on the occurring propensity of rail corrugation.The wheel with web holes of short distance has good stability.The size of web hole has a little influence on the occurring propensity of rail corrugation.The wheel with four holes can reduce the occurring propensity of rail corrugation compared to others,which has good stability.
