Abstract:The life of rubberplastic reciprocating seals is usually characterized by film thickness,bearing capacity,leakage rate,wear rate and other parameters.In order to obtain the above parameters,the physical model of rubberplastic reciprocating seals was established and the numerical solution method was proposed by SALANT of the University of Georgia.In order to better understand and apply this method,the characteristics and incompleteness of this method are analyzed from the following six aspects:the physical structure of the seal,numerical solution process,Reynolds equation establishment,equation constraint boundary establishment,GW contact model establishment,forceload balance,and the correction methods are put forward from above six aspects.The correction method of the sealing model is proposed,and the numerical solution flow of the modified sealing model is given,which makes the calculation results better consistent with the actual working performance and can better reveal the sealing mechanism of rubberplastic reciprocating seals.
