Abstract:A sealing tool for stratified static pressure test of concentric water injection pipe column was designed. The sealing tool is a pure mechanical structure, which is triggered by gravity impact, and realizes the sealing by compressing the rubber sleeves with the piston driven by the downhole pressure. The sealing tool has the advantage of simple construction and can work stably and reliably for a long time.According to the use requirements of the sealing tool, the structure of the common barrel rubber sleeve was improved, and a metal lining ring was added inside the rubber sleeve to enhance the stability and controllability of deformation. The results of ABAQUS finite element simulation show after improvement, the sealing coefficient and maximum contact pressure between the rubber sleeve and the water distributor are increased by more than 30%,the initial sealing performance is greatly improved. The prototype test proves that the maximum sealing pressure from both two sides of the rubber sleeve can be up to 20 MPa.The sealing tool prototype was tested underground for 10 days in the downhole and achieved the expected function, which can be used in production practice
