The groove structures of water lubricated rubber stern tube bearings can be divided into axial and circumferential water channels,the circumferential water channels also have many different forms of the spiral groove structures,and the various forms of the spiral groove structures have an important influence on the mechanical property of the stern bearing.The structure static analysis and comparison was performed by the Ansys software for the rubber stern tube bearings with different number and radius of spiral grooves.The results show that the maximum displacement of the stern bearings is gradually decreased and the maximum stress is gradually increased with the increasing of groove number.Too big or too small groove radius or spiral angle will result in the increase of the maximum strain of the stern bearings.
