In order to discuss oil film characteristics of steam turbine tilting pad bearing,using Pro/E to model and ANSYS to simulate,and selecting SST turbulence model of 3D model, the changes of different oil film flow field of tilting pad were studied by considering the influence of pad space and between pads. The results show that, for a pad,the oil film in each pad forms a positive pressure extremum center. Along with the increasing of pad number,extreme center offsets to supporting point of the pads,which makes two extreme pressure formed on the pads. Pads temperature distribution is more smooth,and the temperature rise of oil film exit is larger. As the number of tilting pads increasing,the peak value of oil film pressure is decreased gradually,the difference of the peak value of oil film pressure is also decreased and then flattens out. Oil film temperature variation is smaller between the different bearing pads. Temperature rise of lubricating oil has a greater influence on the oil film. Four watts of tilting pad bearing in the operation of the steam turbine is relatively stable,but the oil temperature rise must be strictly controlled.
