Abstract:The heat stress of the brake shoes with high friction coefficient of freight train was simulated by thermal structural order coupled method on the condition of the emergency brake process and long slope brake process. The results show that, during the emergency brake process, the maximum temperature occurs at about 28s and the maximum stress occurs at about 32s, which is 206.2℃ and 15.4 MPa separately. On the condition of long slope brake process,the maximum temperature and maximum stress occur at the end of braking, which is 594.8℃and 55.6MPa separately. The simulation results, which are consistent with the test results, can accurately reflect the transient temperature and stress change of the brake shoe in the whole braking process, and the brake shoe meets the requirement of one braking process.
