The viscosity change affected by the shear is different for the greases with different composition. The rheological properties in different working stages for three types of greases with different matrix were studied by using AR 2000ex rheometer. The results show that the greases performance difference can be analyzed from the rheological curves in certain conditions obtained by controlling the shear rate. Both the stability in stop working state and the shear lubrication performance in working state of the lithium greases are better than that of the calcium grease and the urea grease. The rheological curves of these greases are in line with Herschel-Bulkley model, and the thixotropy is relevant to the yield stress of the greases.
