Abstract:By taking the non-alkali glass fiber cloth as the backing material, with PTFE cloth as the surface layer and with epoxy resin as binder, the samples of composite laminated materials of PTFE fiber were formed on a hot press process.Tribological behaviors of the samples were investigated under several kinds of medium as air, pure water and seawater by using MRH-03 type high speed ring block friction and wear tester. The worn surface morphologies and friction forms were observed by using scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Results show that the materials with added PTFE cloth have better tribological properties than the basal materials. After added water as the lubrication medium, due to the lubrication effect of water-film boundary, especially the self-lubrication effect from the Mg(OH)2 and CaCO3 produced during friction process with seawater as the lubrication medium, the friction coefficients and wear rates are declined further.
