Abstract:Tribology properties of textured surface with ring-shape micro-pits in reciprocating motion were studied by numerical method. The effect on friction and bearing capacity by the geometric parameters, such as the depth of ring shape micro-pits and the ratio of area and the radius of inside and outside rings was analyzed, and the analysis result were compared with that of typical column textured surface. The results show that, with the increasing of the width of ring when the depth of ring pits maintains a constant, and with the increasing of the textured depth when the ring pits has a larger width, the friction coefficients are all decreased. The dynamic pressure is decreased with the decreasing of the ring width. As compared with cylindrical textured surface, the friction coefficient of the ring texture is smaller for the same area ratio, and it is easier to attract fine debris.
