Abstract:In order to expose the effect of fixed type on structural stiffness of foil,a beam element model was established to analyze the strained condition of foil under considering frictions,and the static stiffness along the circumferential direction of the bearing was calculated accurately.Several commonly used materials were selected to produce foils,and a foil static stiffness testing rig was designed to analyze the effect of various fixation forms of foil on its static stiffness.The test results were compared with the calculation results of established model.It is found that the fixed types of foils influence its structural stiffness significantly,and the structural stiffness of foils with C fixed type is bigger than L fixed type.The results of analysis model agree with experimental results,and can provide guidance for bump-type bearing design and processing.
