Abstract:There are several defects about the existing test apparatus of rolling bearing torque. To meet the experimental requirements for the torque measurement of rolling bearings,a torque test apparatus for rolling bearings was developed based on an variable frequency-transformed lathe, which could load in radial direction utilizing high-strength spring and thread connection.Together with the positive inversion test method and the signals regulated and filtered by programing on LabView, the torque test for rolling bearings under different radial loads was carried out.Taking the SKF-6205 deep-groove ball bearing as the example, test process exhibits the performances of the apparatus including easy operation, high stability, accuracy and repeatability. The results of analysis and test show that when rotational speeds is constant, the bearing torque is increased with the increasing of radial loads. When radial load is constant, the relationship between torque of bearing with lubrication and rotational speeds has a good agreement with Stribeck theory. However, the bearing without lubrication does not possess the characteristic.
