Abstract:Taking the warm extrusion die of the cupshaft part of automotive steering screw as an example,through the analysis of the warm extrusion forming process,the four major factors influencing the warm extrusion concave die wear life were obtained,that is the concave die’s entrance,mould initial hardness,mold temperature,friction factor.Adopting standard orthogonal experiment table of four factors and four levels,and the numerical simulation software Deform3D,the orthogonal experiments of warm extrusion concave die wear was executed based on the theory of Archard wear.Taking the smallest wear of concave die as the objection,the optimal four factors combination of the concave die wear was obtained.The results show that the initial hardness of the mold has the greatest effect to the die wear in the warm extrusion inner hole process,which has a certain guiding role to the selection of mold materials and heating treatment.Under the optimal parameters combination,the wear depth of the inner hole of warm extrusion die in steady wear stage was calculated,and the service life of mould was predicted.
