Abstract:Nitrilebutadiene rubber (NBR) materials filled by conventional ZnO (cZnO) and nanoZnO (nZnO) were prepared, and the material properties and physical and mechanical performances of Nitrilebutadiene rubber (NBR) containing different kinds of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) were analyzed. The influences on tribological properties of NBR by types of ZnO were studied by using MPV600 abrasive wear tester, the morphology of worn surface was measured by scanning electron microscopy (SEM),and the wear mechanism was analyzed. The results indicate that, compared with NBR containing cZnO,the nZnO can further improve the tensile strength and tensile stress of NBR.The maximum torque of NBR containing nZnO is higher than that of NBR containing cZnO,and the scorch time and optimum cure time of NBR containing nZnO are both shortened. The NBR containing nZnO exhibits the more outstanding wear resistance, which is mainly due to its greater crosslinking density and higher systematic hardness. The wear mechanism of NBR containing nZnO is abrasive wear and little adhesive wear, while that of NBR containing cZnO is abrasive wear and serious adhesive wear.
