Abstract:With phenolic resin modified by nitrile rubber as resin matrix,Kevlar/glass hybrid fiber as the reinforcing fiber,a friction material used for hoisting system of a mine was prepared by hot pressing sintering.The tribological properties of the materials under water lubrication were studied,and the micromorphologies of the friction materials were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The results show that,as compared with the friction materials without hybrid fibers,the friction materials modified by hybrid fibers has even better tribological properties,such as low friction coefficient and low wear rate,and stable tribological properties.In the friction process,the wear mechanism of the friction materials modified by hybrid fibers is fatigue and plastic deformation,while the wear mechanism of the friction materials without hybrid fiber mainly is fatigue,furrow and little adhesion wear.
