A numerical model of elastohydrodynamic lubrication of the waterlubricated bearing considering thermal and transient effects was built.The change of pressure and film thickness was obtained by numerical simulation for the waterlubricated bearing at different instant under four different forms of transient load,including the step,rectangular pulse,sinusoidal pulse and Gaussian pulse.The results show that the pressure is increased while the film thickness is decreased under the transient load time,and the fluctuation of pressure is more obvious compared with the film thickness.The value of the minimum film thickness is the lowest caused by the rectangular pulse and the step load among of the four different forms of transient load.
