Abstract:The transmission model of the gear rack was simplified to the motion between the cylinder and the infinite plane,and a thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication model was established to consider the influence of rough texture of gear and rack tooth surface.With Newton fluid,the pressure was solved by multigrid method,and elastic deformation was solved by multiplegrid integration method.The pressure and film thickness under different rough texture was calculated and compared with that of smooth surface,and the pressure and film thickness were compared with and without considering thermal effect.The results show that the rough texture results in the fluctuation of the pressure,film thickness and temperature rise of the transmission mechanism of gear rack,and the minimum film thickness becomes thinner.Partial EHL phenomenon is produced in the roughness valleys and rough peaks of rectangular and triangular rough texture surface,resulting in the local pressure peaks.When considering the thermal effect,the rough texture surface exhibits a fluctuation in temperature rise,and a much larger fluctuation in pressure and film thickness.The elastohydrodynamic lubrication analysis of the transmission mechanism of gear rack considering thermal effect is more in line with engineering practice.
