Abstract:The numerical simulation of mixed lubrication in point contact was studied based on the semisystem method with a unified Reynolds equation.In the hydrodynamic lubrication areas,the hydrodynamic pressure was solved by the Reynolds equation,in the asperity contact areas,the contact pressure was solved by the simplified Reynolds equation.A discrete convolution and fast Fourier transform (DCFFT) method was used to calculate surface deformation.In order to accelerate the iterative convergence speed,the progressive mesh densification (PMD) method was used in the numerical solving process.The numerical results show that this model can quickly solve different lubrication cases including fullfilm,mixed and boundary lubrication under the condition of smooth or rough surface.And as the entrainment speed is increased,the lubrication state varying from the boundary to mixed lubrication,then to fullfilm lubrication appears a smooth transition process.
