Abstract:Considering the elastic deformation and the viscosity and density changing with pressure and temperature,a finite element model for sliding thrust bearing was established by COMSOL Multiphysics. The numerical simulation results show that the increase of initial oil’s temperature results the rapid decrease of viscosity, but it has little impact on the oil film pressure. The increase of load makes the oil film pressure increase obviously and pressure peak value move towards the export zones, and large deformation is formed in the export zones. With the increase of rotation speed, the oil film thickness is increased, which is helpful to produce the hydrodynamic pressure, but the friction power loss is increased. There is an optimum incline angle which can make the oil film pressure peak the least and the oil film pressure distribution more uniform.
