The gas journal bearing of single axis air bearing platform is composed of thrust bearing and journal bearing.The journal bearing is required to have high gas film stiffness and radial interference resistance capability though theres no load requirement.The interference resistance design of the gas journal bearing of single axis air bearing platform was performed by means of maximum static stiffness criteria.The result shows that the stiffness and interference resistance capability is improved by using two short connective gas journal bearings compared with one long bearing.The influence of hole position,gas film thickness,hole number and hole diameter on bearings static characteristics were discussed.The optimal parameters of the bearing were determined to obtain a larger gas film stiffness and good static stability.The radial interference resistance capability of the designed bearing was checked,showing that the air floated platform has good working performance.
