Abstract:In order to study the effect of velocity slip on the performance of the liquid hydrostatic thrust bearing,the velocity slip model was introduced into the traditional Reynolds equation to obtain a modified Reynolds equation.By solving the modified Reynolds equation,the characteristics of static performance of the liquid hydrostatic thrust bearings with eight pads under the influence of velocity slip were obtained.The results show that the existence of velocity slip does not change the trend of the bearing performance,but the oil film pressure,bearing capacity and stiffness are increased under the same thickness of oil film.With the increase of the slip length,the pressure,bearing capacity and stiffness are increased and the optimum thickness of the oil film becomes smaller.With the increase of oil supply pressure,the bearing capacity and stiffness are increased,under the same oil supply pressure,the velocity slip makes the bearing capacity and stiffness of bearing increase to a certain extent.
