Abstract:CFD is a highly efficient method for studying the correlation properties of gas film seals in multimode parameters.The meshing method and element number are key factors to affect the calculation accuracy and efficiency.With Tgroove gas film seal as the research object,the threedimensional model was established by UG.Meshed by gradually varying the meshing method and element number with Gambit,the results was finally solved by Fluent and which were used to analyze the grid independence.The results show that the size parameter,the layer number and its corresponding element number have a great influence on the sealing performance;Unreasonable opening performance and leakage values appear at the size of 0.3 and 0.4,while reasonable results are obtained at the size of less than 0.3 or larger than 0.5;The variation of grid layer number has a little influence on the opening force,however significant on the leakage at the range of 1-5,but steady over 5;With smaller sizes and over 5 layers,the opening force and leakage tend to be stable when the number of grid quantity is greater than 500,000.
