Abstract:The effect of laser remelting nanoSiC on tribological properties of Fe base Ni/WC metal ceramic coatings was explored. The Fe based Ni/WC cermet coating was covered on the surface of 45#steel by flame spraying, and laser remelting on the coating was catrried out by adding and without adding nano SiC.The microtissue components, phase structure and microstructure of the coatings were measured by using an EDS,XRD,SEM,and the tribological properties of the coatings wwere tested by a friction wear testing machine. The results show that the internal defects in coatings are eliminated by laser remelting, and the grain size of the coatings is further refined by the nanoparticles, which improves the plastic deformation of the remelting layer. The average friction coefficient of flame spraying sample, laser remelting sample without adding nanoparticles and laser remelting sample with adding nanoparticles is 0.77,0.59 and 0.54,respectively.The wear rate of the coatings after remelting without and with nano SiC is 35.2% and 22.2% of that of the flame spraying coating. The form of wear was transited from adhesive wear to abrasion wear, and the coating wear is the lightest after adding nanoparticles. After adding nanoparticles, the hard phase particles are embedded in the soft substrate, which can further improve the wear resistance of the remelted layer.
