The geometrical models of surface textures with different arrangements were established. The pressure distribution and flow field were analyzed and the effect of different spacings on bearing capacity was investigated. The results show that different arrangements of surface texture have a great influence on the lubrication characteristics, and intersectional arrangement has the highest bearing capacity. The optimum spacing among micro-dimples gives full play to the hydrodynamic effect. The optimum density of intersectional microdimple texture has greater improvement than that of regular microdimple texture.
