The development of rubber and plastic sealing industry and the application in various industries of China in recent years were stated.The structure design,sealing material,inspection and testing technology and manufacturing process of rubber and plastic seal were reviewed in this paper.The existing gap and insufficiency between domestic rubber and plastic sealing industry and the advanced sealing technology in developed countries were analyzed.The development direction and future trend of rubber and plastic sealing technology and industry in China were proposed.
