Abstract:In order to study the influence of temperature effect on lubrication failure, the constitutive equation of nonNewtonian fluid considering temperature effect was derived by solving the reasonably simplified energy equation. The viscosity temperature coefficient was measured by experiments, and the function image was drawn after substituting the working conditions.By analyzing the image and the obtained data,it is found that the exit of the contact area is the most dangerous point in the lubrication process. With the increase of shear strain rate, lubricant firstly shows the properties of Newtonian fluid, and then slowly appears the phenomenon of shear thinning. When the shear strain rate increases to a certain extent, shear stress will reach to the maximum. After that,if the shear strain rate continues to increase, the shear stress will no longer rise, and lubrication failure will occur.
