Abstract:In order to investigate the wear performance of a new type of gear, the spur gear with constant relative curvature (referred to as the CRC gear) ,the mathematical model of CRC gear was established, and based on Kragelski’s fatigue wear calculation method and Archard wear calculation method, the wear performance of CRC gears was analyzed theoretically. The calculation results of the two methods have the same trend and the maximum wear depth value is very close, which indicates that the calculation results are credible.By comparing with the wear of the involute gear with the same design parameters,it is found that the wear trend of the CRC gear is consistent with that of the involute gear, which is that the wear at the dedendum is greater than that at the addendum, and the wear of the driving wheel is greater than that of the driven wheel. The larger relative curvature at the same meshing position will cause more serious wear.Because the relative curvature of CRC gear remains unchanged and and the value is smaller, the wear at the dedendum of the driving gear and the addendum of the driven gear is greatly reduced compared with the involute gear.Studies have shown that the wear performance of CRC gears is greatly improved compared to involute gears.
