Abstract:In order to improve the surface performance of bearing steel, the electroless composite plating process was proposed.Ni-P-Nano PTFE coating was prepared on the surface of bearing steel by a combination of mechanical stirring and chemical dispersion. The tribological behaviors of bearing steel,Ni-P coating and Ni-P-Nano PTFE coating were tested with an universal micro-tribotester (UMT),and the tribological behaviors of Ni-P-Nano PTFE coating were tested under different loads and frequencies. The results show that the composite coating, with high bonding strength with the bearing steel,is uniform, flat and compact.Compared with the bearing steel, the coefficient of friction of composite coating is reduced by 55%,the wear rate of the composite coating is reduced by 31.07%,and the wear scar diameter of the steel ball is reduced by 34.19%.When the load is less than 20 N and the frequency is lower than 15 Hz,Ni-P-Nano PTFE coating has a long service life, and it can bear multiple reciprocating friction. The Ni-P-Nano PTFE coating can significantly improve the anti-wear and friction reducing properties of the bearing steel. The research results can provide a new idea for designing the surface of metal materials in the fields of aviation, machinery, and chemical engineering.
