Abstract:The elliptic oilfilm bearing force models with and without consideration of cavitation effect was established,and the oilfilm pressure distributions of the two models based on software Fluent was compared.Through the comparison,the pressure distribution of elliptic oilfilm bearing with consideration of cavitation effect was proved to be more reasonable.The distribution of pressure field at different rotational speed of journal and different oilsupplied pressure was analyzed and compared.The results show that the higher the rotational speed is,the higher the oilfilm pressure on the upper and lower pads,as well as the bearing capacity along the x and y direction.The oilsupplied pressure has little influence on oilfilm pressure on the lower pad,however,the higher oilsupplied pressure leads to higher oilfilm pressure on the upper pad and higher loadcarrying capacity along the x direction,but lower loadcarrying capacity along the y direction.
