Abstract:Taking the ferrofluid bearing as the research object,based on the mathematic model considering the effect of magnetic field,twodimensional modified Reynolds equation was solved by the finite difference method with pointbypoint relaxation iterative method.The thickness of liquid film and pressure distribution were obtained,and the change rule of the load carrying capacity with different working parameters was analyzed.The results show that the pressure distribution of the liquid film is symmetrical and nonlinear.As the magnetic body force coefficient increases,the pressure of liquid film is increased at various points and narrow hole region.The load carrying capacity of liquid film is increased with the increase of the magnetic body force coefficient,rotational speed,eccentricity and aspect ratio,and decreased with the increase of the radius clearance.
