Abstract:The sealing characteristics of a new steeped rubber Dring in different initial compression ratios,medium pressures and structure parameters were analyzed using finite element method,and were compared with the same size ordinary D-ring.The results indicate that,under high initial compression ratio,the steeped Dring has better sealing effect but shorter service life than the ordinary D-ring.Under low medium pressure,the stepped rubber Dring has better sealing performance and longer service life,while under high medium pressure,the stepped rubber D-ring has the same sealing performance as the ordinary one,but shorter service life.The structure parameter H-1/H-2,the height ratio of base rectangle and section curve is an important factor that affects the sealing effect of D-ring,and the combination sealing performance for the two kinds of Dring is the optimal,when the ratio H-1/H-2 is equivalent to 3∶1.
