Abstract:To study the influence of hybrid microstructures with variable densities, variable shapes and their simultaneous change on tool lubrication, the lubrication model, composed of the cutting tool with hybrid microstructures and chip, was established. The parameters of the output pressure on the upper surface of the oil film, the bearing capacity and the inlet mass flow rate were calculated, and the effect of structure parameters and shapes on the lubrication state was analyzed. The results show that variable density microstructures set different area ratios according to severe, moderate and mild wear zones, variable shape microstructures set different shape and arrangement according to their shape characteristics. Both combination microstructures can improve loadcarrying capacity and increase mass flow rate of lubricating oil inlet. The combination microstructures with variable density and variable shape combine the advantages of variable density microstructures and variable shape microstructures, which can better exert the ability of microstructures to improve the oil film distribution at the toolchip interface and continuously supply lubricants,so as to obtain the best comprehensive lubricating properties.
