A simulation test method for evaluating the friction and wear properties of diesel engine oil was developed by using SRVR4 friction and wear tester as test platform,engine cylinder linerpiston ring interceptor provided by a commercial vehicle company as friction pair test piece,15W-40 CF-4 and 15W-40 CI-4 engine oils as lubricating medium.The method was used to evaluate the friction and wear properties of diesel engine oils,and investigate the different of lubricating oil with and without antiwear agent the compatibility of piston rings with different materials with lubricating oil.The test results show that the simulation test method can distinguish diesel engine oil with excellent wear resistance,and has a good distinctionof lubricating oil with friction reducer and the compatibility of piston rings of different materials with lubricating oil.It can be used as a simulation evaluation tool for lubricating oil developers and OEM automobile manufacturers in oil formulation development and material selection of friction pairs.
