Abstract:In the process of coal mining, due to the harsh underground environment, the groove side of the scraper conveyor is corroded and worn, which reduces its service life and reliability. To reveal the corrosion and wear mechanism of the groove side,so as to provide theoretical support for the protection of the groove side and the development of new wear-resistant materials, the abrasive wear test was performed on 30SiMn steel, the main material of the scraper conveyor, and the wear morphology was observed to reveal its wear mechanism. The electrochemical tests, corrosion immersion tests, and computer simulations were combined to reveal its corrosion mechanism. The results show that the average hardness of 30SiMn steel at room temperature is 220.94HB.Under the tangential cutting action of the abrasive, the 30SiMn steel has furrow and micro-cutting areas on the surface, and the depth of the scratches is large and the cross section is wide. The abrasive cutting effect is the main reason of wear failure. The self-corrosion current of 30SiMn steel is 1.207 4×10-6 A/cm2,and the annual corrosion rate is 0.113 8 mm.30SiMn steel is mainly corroded at grain boundaries in the mine water environment, and the corrosion occurs first at the grain boundaries. As time goes by,clusters of flocculent substances are generated on the surface of the material and the corrosion phenomenon intensifies.Eventually, the material produces cracks from the grain boundaries and is accompanied by the occurrence of spalling. When the structure is stable, the adsorption distances of Fe to Cl-,Ca2+,Na+,H2O,SO2-4 are 0.236 4,0.242 0,0.310 5,0.247 0,0.197 6 nm,respectively. The adsorption energies of Fe to Cl-,Ca2+,Na+,H2O,SO-24 are -1.33,-10.06,-19.3,-5.46,-0.43 eV,respectively. It shows that there is an adsorption relationship between Fe and five kinds of ions (molecules) in the stable state, and the adsorbed ions have a corrosive effect on the grain boundaries with large energy, which verifies the results of immersion experiment.
